Essential Oils for Respiratory Ease

There are many actions you can take to soothe your respiratory system when irritation occurs.

Anti-inflammatory essential oils – eucalyptus, peppermint, lavender, clove, and ginger – not only smell good, but they also alleviate inflammation in your respiratory pathways.

Here are a few ways to take advantage of essential oils to help you breathe more clearly:

  • Put one or two drops on your mask, being careful not to overdo it. Too much will make your eyes water but one or two is refreshing

  • Rub some peppermint and/or eucalyptus essential oils onto your chest for a natural vapor rub that can ease your breathing as you sleep

  • Place a few drops of your preferred combination of anti-inflammatory oils in a bowl of hot water, use a dishcloth tent over your head, and inhale deeply for a quick, refreshing steam thot opens your sinuses

  • Include essential oils in your shower or bath ritual for a refreshing and invigorating treat
